One person has died from a crash Saturday on Interstate 74 in Shelby County.
According to a release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s office, the crash happened just after noon on I-74 between the State Road 9 and State Road 44 exits.
A westbound Honda crossed over the median and collided with an eastbound Nissan.
Three males in the Honda were injured, and one of them, who has not been identified, died at IU Health-Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
The driver of the Nissan, 85-year-old Carl Walton of Indianapolis, was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis with serious injuries. Two of his passengers, Lillie Walton, 76, and 51-year-old Angela Harvey of Fairland, were also seriously injured and taken to Indianapolis hospitals. A fourth person in Walton’s car was not injured.
The crash is under investigation.
