The crash happened on Indy’s north side around 6 p.m. Sunday. Greg Pitzer was driving west on 80th Street near Oakland Road when he pulled into a driveway to get something that had been left on the side of the road.
When Pitzer was behind his car, another vehicle — a 2014-2016 white Jeep Grand Cherokee — veered off the road and hit him before the driver continued down the road without stopping.
Pitzer suffered severe internal injuries in the crash and was still in critical condition at an Indianapolis hospital Tuesday.
Police believe the Jeep has extensive damage on the passenger side, including a missing side mirror.
