A pedestrian died late Saturday after being struck by a vehicle on Indianapolis’ south side.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the crash happened around 11 p.m. Saturday near Madison Avenue and East Thompson Road.
Officials said a pedestrian was hit while crossing the street and was pronounced dead after being rushed to a nearby hospital.
The name of the pedestrian has not been released.
The driver remained at the scene after the crash and is cooperating with investigators, police said. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
No one else was hurt in the incident. The crash remains under investigation.
