Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Hit and Run Accident – Update

The victim, 32-year-old Maurice Hamler, was driving his motorcycle in the 9400 block of East 38th Street. The victim was struck by a dark sedan driving eastbound on 38thStreet. The victim was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, and his condition has not improved at this time.

Based on evidence recovered at the crime scene, investigators believe the suspect vehicle will be a dark blue 2000-2007 Mitsubishi Lancer with damage near the driver’s door.  After the crash, the driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene without rendering first aid to the victim or notifying IMPD of the crash.

The victim in Monday night’s hit and run has died at Eskenazi Hospital.  Detectives continue their search for the driver of a dark blue 2000-2007 Mitsubishi Lancer.
