On December 21, 2016, officers arrived at a box truck and vehicle crash Brookville Rd. /S. Post Rd. The driver of the vehicle was unresponsive. IFD and Indianapolis EMS responded, the driver of the vehicle had to be extricated. The driver of the vehicle was transported to Eskenazi in critical condition. Witnesses say that the vehicle was traveling eastbound when the driver turned north onto Post Rd. The driver of the box truck was headed westbound when it struck the vehicle in the intersection. Witnesses at the scene state, that the driver of the vehicle ran the red light. Investigators do not suspect anything suspicious at that this time.
The driver of the box truck was transported to Eskenazi for a routine blood draw, but alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this accident per the detective on the scene.
