On Sunday, April 30th, 2017, at approximately 2:35 p.m., Carmel Police responded to an accident at the intersection of 111th Street and the Monon Greenway. Officers arrived and found a bicyclist and a white SUV involved in the crash.
Based on preliminary information, it appears the (female juvenile) bicyclist was traveling southbound on the Monon Greenway and failed to stop at the 111th Street intersection. A white GMC Yukon operated by Sandra S. Blair (66 year old from Indianapolis, IN) was traveling eastbound 111th Street approaching the Monon Greenway and was unable to avoid colliding with the bicyclist.
The bicyclist was transported to Riley Children’s hospital with a possible broken bone and laceration to her thigh. She is listed in stable condition.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
