Finis Tatum IV was admitted to the Indiana State Bar in 2010. Finis is also admitted to practice law before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. Finis earned his undergraduate degree from Purdue University–West Lafayette and his law degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. He was President of the Black Law Students Association and the student representative for the Faculty Recruitment and Faculty Diversity Committees while attending law school. Prior to practicing law, Finis was a two-year law clerk for the Honorable Randall T. Shepard, former Chief Justice of Indiana. Finis practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation, personal injury, and criminal defense.
He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, Marion County Bar Association, Hancock County Bar Association. Finis is a graduate of the Indiana Emerging Leaders Project and the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Bar Leader Series XII. He was recently selected to participate in the Indiana State Bar Association’s Leadership Development Academy. Finis was also selected by the Chief Federal Defender for the Southern District of Indiana to serve on the Development Panel for the Criminal Justice Act.
